ABOUT THIS IMAGE
Taken c.1950s, near Lake Oppstrynsvatn, Innlandet, Norway
(Nasjonalbiblioteket)
"A couple stops by the base of a mountain pass in west Norway, before continuing up on a series of hairpin turns winding up past Videseter towards the old village of Grotli. In the distance is the edge of Lake Oppstrynsvatn. Whilst the date range places the photograph taken between the 1950s-1970s, the vehicle is an American Chevrolet 1946 Panel Truck. It was hard to narrow down the exact colour, but it was a tossup between 'Hollywood Tan' and 'Cream Medium'. I went with Cream Medium in the end. A modern view of the same local shows the mountain slope on the left now completely forested."
– Jordan J. Lloyd
This historical photograph has been meticulously researched and rendered into colour from a black and white original by a skilled artisan, continuing a craft tradition that has existed since photography began.
